These Directions are established by the Ministry of Education to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree programs in Taiwan, fostering understanding of Taiwan's educational environment and promoting international exchange and friendship.

Key Operational Summary

  • Funding Benefits: Monthly living stipend of NTD 15,000 for undergraduate students, and NTD 20,000 for master's and doctoral students. Tuition and miscellaneous fees are subsidized up to NTD 40,000 per semester.
  • Award Duration: Maximum 4 years for Bachelor's, 2 years for Master's, and 4 years for Doctoral programs (with a cumulative maximum total of 5 years across all degree levels).
  • Academic Maintenance: Postgraduate students must maintain an academic average of at least 80/100 each semester. Falling below standard leads to a 1-month stipend suspension, and consecutive failures lead to permanent revocation.
  • ARC Requirement: Recipients must submit an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) explicitly stating "Pursuing Studies" during registration every semester.
